With 16 SS sentenced me to death

Berlin - It's a wonder that Hardy Kruger (80, "One came through") is still alive! When Talker Reinhold Beckmann (52) of the movie star told on Monday for the first time that he was convicted in World War II by an SS court to death.
As a young soldier he was in the final phase of the war in March 1945 for the Waffen-SS Division "Nibelungen" in the Tyrol in use. There he was ordered to fire on American soldiers.
The Berlin could not. "During the patrol, I have seen the faces and as the finger is not crooked gone," says Krueger. "Since I had been guilty of myself and have been sentenced to death."
But a superior officer saved his life. "A high-ranking SS officer who saw me - I was practically a child soldier. He has resisted the command, and made me his personal alarm. "
Kruger had to do for the officer's most dangerous tasks. "He was well aware that the good Lord will decide whether I should continue or not." After two dangerous missions in Kruger took a heart and fled into the mountains.
